Jonathan R. Cohen is associate professor of law and associate director of the Institute for Dispute Resolution at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He received his J.D. and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. Cohen’s research focuses on the intersection between dispute resolution and ethics. In recent years, he has written articles addressing the role of apology in legal disputes, the ethics of respect in negotiation, and the moral requirement that injurers take, rather than deny, responsibility for harms they commit.
