Ethan Katsh
is professor of legal studies and director of the Center for
Information Technology and Dispute Resolution at the University of
Massachusetts at Amherst. He is the author of Online Dispute Resolution:
Resolving Conflicts in Cyberspace (2001) and Law in a Digital World (1995).
He has been visiting professor of law and cyberspace at Brandeis
University, is chair of the UN Economic Commission for Europe Expert Group
on ODR, and cochair of the Association of Conflict Resolution Section of
Online Dispute Resolution. He is currently principal investigator for a
National Science Foundation project involving the use of online dispute
resolution in federal administrative agencies. His e-mail is
